Kindermusik

April 15, 2016

As a working mom for 12 years I had heard about Kindermusik, so when I began “staying home” (we will discuss how wrong this label is some day) I had to find out what it was all about.  Mr. One absolutely loves Kindermusik  and his teacher Mrs. Karen.  I love that I have one hour one day a week dedicated to just being with him when we can focus on bonding and having fun.

We go to Kindermusik on Wednesdays, it works great for my schedule because on Wednesdays Mr. Three stays for “lunch bunch” at preschool.  I have extra time in the mornings to spare on these days.  When I first heard of Kindermusik I thought it was just a class of singing songs and playing instruments.  I did not realize how much fun and educational it really is for our little ones.

We have made such great friends in this program and have made sure to sign up for the same classes each semester with our new friends.  You can read more about Kindermusik and sign up HERE.  Please mention you heard about it from Sandhills Mom Blog and maybe Mr. One will get a discount next semester!   (they offer referral discounts when you invite friends!)

Each session is “about developing skills in the whole child – ages newborn to 7 years – cognitive, physical, social, emotional, language and musical” Each semester you are given an “at home kit” with a musical instrument, book, CD and colorful photos to enjoy at home with your child.  Registration is ongoing throughout the year and the first class is free.  Check out the Pinehurst area schedule HERE.

They also offer Birthday Parties!  Location can be arranged for you or they will come to your location, inquire with them by emailing or calling Ellen.

What I have loved most about our experience with Kindermusik is Mr. One’s love for music being so obvious already at his young age.  He loves to dance and wiggle and clap his hands to music wherever we are, which is actually pretty darn cute!  When school is out my older kids have come with us to class and they really enjoyed it.  Currently our local Kindermusik only offers classes up to age 3, however if there is enough interest they may be able to offer more ages up to age 7.  So be sure to contact them if you’re interested.

There are other music classes similar Kindermusik in the area.  These came highly recommended from friends although I personally have never been to one:

Musikgarten at First Baptist Church Southern Pines

Music Together at Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church
