Pinehurst Splash Pad!

June 21, 2016

The Pinehurst Splash Pad is OPEN!  Today was the grand opening of this new and much anticipated park feature for our community.  I was able to chat with Mark Wagner towards the end of the event and get his reaction on the reception of the pad.  He was happy with the way the event turned out and thankful for the support of the community.  His crew had been working since 6:30am and had not encountered a single issue with the facility; everyone was happy and everything went smoothly.

You can locate this park at 10 Rassie Wicker Park Dr.  Pinehurst, NC 28374

FAQS and information can be found on my original blog published in May about this facility found HERE.

The overall look of the splash pad from the road is deceiving and even the photos don't do it justice.  There is water water everywhere!  Even after my sneak peek a few weeks ago I was impressed with how much water there actually is for us to enjoy.  You will definitely get plenty wet if you want to!

We missed the official opening & ribbon cutting ceremony as the boys both had check ups today.  We arrived a couple hours later and the crowd had died down a bit.  Mark stated they estimated 900-1,000 attendees today!  We had just enough time to enjoy the splash pad and inflatable slides before heading out for dinner.  The boys played hard and worked up an appetite.  I'm so excited to have this so close to our house for days when they just need to run and it's HOT.

The Splash Pad is great for ALL ages!  Mr. One loved playing with the low level water features while Mr. Four loved running back and forth all over the place.  Ms. Nine had a great time playing games with friends and waiting for the big bucket to dump.  Ms. Twelve is away at sleepaway camp, but I know she will love to come check it out when she gets home.

Remember to shower in the outdoor shower before you enter the pad.  Water shoes are strongly suggested as well...and as much as my kiddos ran around I happen to agree that is a good idea.  I can see stubbed toes being a common issue if they aren't protected.

We stayed until the very end of the Open House event when the water was cut off.  Mr. One was not too happy about having to leave.  I'm sure we will be back tomorrow!

We are so thankful the Village of Pinehurst has given this wonderful addition to our parks to us!  The kids are so happy and I am thrilled to have a nice cool option to entertain and run off the kid's energy on hot summer nights!  Thanks Mark and everyone involved!
