Traveling Mom

Traveling has always been something my heart yearns for. As a teen I always dreamed of traveling the globe with my kids in tow one day learning with them everything the world had to offer.

Only I never gave it a practical thought. I’ve always wanted to travel.  However, a fear of flying and a busy schedule trying to pay bills and do life hasn’t really allowed for much of it.

Traveling is definitely either a luxury or a necessity in my world. Adulthood is not the exciting running off and gypsy-like living that I desired or imagined as a young adult.

I lucked into the ability to travel the last couple of years with my business both for business and for leisure. Even recently I was able to bring alone 2 of my 4 kiddos with me!  My heart is full and happy when I’m traveling, there is no doubt about that. And I’m pretty sure my children can see how happy it makes me.

I’m not sure what it is that gives me that feeling?Maybe it’s the freedom, the wide open spaces or  the lack of true responsibility that comes from not being in a regular daily routine?

Do you have a list of things that light your heart on fire?  What are they?  What dreams do you hold onto and share with your children?

My traveling bucket list includes visiting Australia, which I’m actually working to make happen with my business right now. I also really hope to travel to Italy, Amsterdam, Ireland, and more some day!

I’ve learned this last year that though I love to travel I do not love to cruise. Perhaps I haven’t taken the right one yet but I’m not anxious to go on a cruise anytime soon. I’ve experienced small boats, Carnival Cruise Lines and Princess Cruises. I do want to try a Disney Cruise for the kids but if that doesn’t go well cruising will be off of my list of things I enjoy doing

One very big thing on my bucket list that has a little bit to do with traveling is actually LIVING in New York City for one year. The village specifically. The first time I visited I fell in love and knew I had to spend an extended time there sometime in my lifetime. Time will tell.

I want to hear about your dreams!  Message me on Facebook or via email to tell me what lights your heart up!
