Timbernook of the Sandhills

May 4, 2016

I learned about Timbernook of the Sandhills from some friends on Facebook.  Ads were popping up and an event invitation sent to me for this outdoor playground type playgroup thing, or at least that's how I interpreted it.  The open house was on the same day of my youngest ones' first birthday so we couldn't make it.  A couple of my friends did and we saw photos from their day and were definitely intrigued.

I talked with the owner via Facebook messaging shortly after that to learn more about what it was.  We live in an area that isn't very wooded and has a decent amount of traffic so my kids don't play outside as much as I would like.  She has such a cool idea and set up that I knew we had to give it a try.

After school on Friday April 29th, Miss. Nine and her friend went to check out Timbernook of the Sandhills’  "Night Camp" and had a BLAST!  Thanks to Dauphine Sisk, owner, for the wonderful photos of their time enjoying the outdoors.

The girls raved about their visit at Timbernook and can’t wait to go back.

They cooked their dinner (hot dogs) over campfire, roasted marshmallows, climbed trees, played games, and used the potty outside.  They thought that last part was kind of funny.  I love that they had some “good old-fashioned fun” outdoors.  If you want to register for an upcoming “camp” click here for the info!
